Not only that, it has aggressive expansion plans for the rest of Europe, as well as exciting new products and services due to be launched.

We are looking for an experienced buyer to manage the negotiation and purchasing of components for our products which will involve with interaction with European and Asian suppliers. The role will be based in our Hook office and some travel to our Newcastle office will also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with numerous internal departments to ascertain project needs at a very early stage and work to cost targets
  • Attend internal project meetings to ensure deliverables of key milestones in purchasing and supply chain support tasks
  • Push project information along in line with tight time scales
  • Monitoring and negotiation of world prices of components, metal and polymers
  • Sourcing of components worldwide at best possible prices
  • Review the system based purchasing / stock control system to ensure we are maximising its potential
  • Negotiate and establish a cost reduction policy with the key suppliers

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous buyer experience
  • To have demonstrated experienced in negotiating pricing of electronic and mechanical devices from key OEM suppliers who have both a European and Asian base. Ideal but not essential
  • Capable of positive input to designs at an early stage to ensure commercially viable components are being used.

PMO Analyst

Work Location: Hook, UK

Not only that, it has aggressive expansion plans for the rest of Europe, as well as exciting new products and services due to be launched.

We are looking for an experienced Programme Management Office Analyst to support the Programme Management team with status of key deliverables and milestones, programme level risk and project co-ordination.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Programmes and Projects to implement agreed governance framework, methodologies and toolkits
  • Work with project managers and third parties to develop and maintain comprehensive and coherent plans
  • Provide accurate and up to date information of programmes and priorities to key stakeholders including sponsors and programme boards
  • Provide support for Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies management for key projects and run regular reviews of RAID items with Project Manager
  • Provide health check reviews at key stages during life cycle to establish whether project or programme is expected to achieve the planned benefits and objectives
  • Input into change planning/ resource forecasting process, budget forecasting/tracking and status reporting

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree level education
  • Qualification in PMO/Programme/Project Management (PRINCE2, P30, MSP)
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage stakeholder groups with diplomacy, tact and assertiveness
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages including MS Project, PowerPoint, Work and Excel
  • Experience of managing small projects or exposure to the end-to-end project lifecycle
  • Experience of working within in structured project management framework
  • Experience of strategic planning and monitoring and financial control skills

Desirable

  • Experience in Smart Metering/ the Utility industry or technical product development
  • Advanced stakeholder management

Customer Integration Engineer

Work Location: Hook or Newcastle, UK

We are always keen to hear from exceptionally talented people with previous experience in liaising with customers supporting them through test phases, who will be able to build customer confidence in EDMI products and onboarding services.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers on their requirements for test specifications and sign off
  • Support customer and industry EDMI product testing whilst managing defects
  • Perform quality testing to ensure the successful delivery of the products
  • Prepare test reports to update customers and team members about the project status, progress and risks
  • Field day to day customer engagement, questions, escalations, risks and issues
  • Responsible for the planning, scheduling and implementation of the customer support tasks
  • Create and maintain customers’ technical documentation including deployment, functional and technical specifications and incident reports
  • Build customer confidence in EDMI products, on-boarding and support capabilities

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Understanding of the DCC SMETS2 environment with SMETS2 testing experience
  • Hold a recognised qualification in Computing, Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Possess a good understanding of system architectures, SQL and communications technologies
  • Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple customers, their priorities and the progression of all issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A minimum 3 years of technical customer support experience in a similar role

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the UK metering / utility industry
  • Understanding of Zigbee, DLMS and GBCS

Wireless Firmware Engineer

Work Location: Hook, Hampshire, UK

Not only that, it has aggressive expansion plans for the rest of Europe, as well as exciting new products and services due to be launched.

We are looking for an experienced wireless firmware engineer to design and develop the firmware used on our smart metering product range. Reporting to the Development team lead and Software Director, you will be working on live projects from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with numerous internal departments to ascertain project needs at a very early stage and work to cost targets
  • Manage the full life cycle development on the smart metering range including requirement analysis, maintenance, continuous integration, configuration management, peer code inspection and task creation and tracking.
  • Responsible for interoperability testing and test events
  • Understand and implement secure coding techniques to ensure products meet the required industry standards

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of embedded C programming
  • Good working knowledge of embedded RTOS, secure coding, MISRA, wireless technologies (ZigBee, Bluetooth, 3GPP, IoT)
  • Understanding of interoperability testing and over the air protocol analysis

Desirable

  • Design and development of low power systems
  • Smart metering (DLMS, GBCS) experience
  • Agile software development experience

Product Engineer

We are looking for a product engineer to join the team and assist the Product Managers, Development, Marketing and Customer Integration teams in the development of documentation, management of different workstream deliverables, testing of products and onboarding of new customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user guides for new products
  • Create product collateral for marketing and presentations to clients
  • Perform product demonstrations to clients
  • Assist product managers in their day-to-day activities including management of product relation documentation, development of product roadmaps and business cases and market analysis

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the industry
  • Action oriented with a customer focus
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
