Solution Architect

Work Location: Hook, Hampshire, UK

We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Solutions Architect to work as the key provider of technical leadership and design documentation to internal and external parties including the Technical Director, Customers, Standards Groups, Design and Development teams, Test teams and Manufacturing & Supply Chain departments.

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will delve straight into the UK smart metering market to engage with the specifications and with working groups to act as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage requirements for the development teams
  • Deliver specifications for development and test
  • Develop documentation to support development, including architecture and detailed design
  • Review and sign off test cases and results delivered by the test teams
  • Provide issue resolution support to the development team, customers and industry parties

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience with AMI meter deployments involving remote communications, advanced tariff and data profile systems including prepayment.
  • Experience with UK smart metering specifications; GBCS, CPA, Zigbee, DLMS
  • Previous experience in creating product specifications across all aspects of creating smart metering products
  • Detailed knowledge of the software components involved, and how to architect and specify for the broader development team.
  • Proven ability to create clear, unambiguous documentation, and to coach peers and reporting resources

Firmware Engineer

Work Location: Hook, Hampshire, UK

We are looking for a driven Firmware Engineer to join the EDMI UK Development team in designing and developing the platform firmware used in EDMI’s Smart Metering Product range. Supporting the Test Engineers and Software Director, you will be given responsibility from day one and start working on live projects to apply your existing knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full life cycle development on the smart metering range including design, maintenance, configuration management and peer code inspection
  • Developing and maintaining firmware platform components including RTOS, Drivers, Encryption engines, Communication Stacks and Metering Engines
  • Understanding secure coding techniques to ensure the product range meets the required industry standard for the relevant certifications and approvals

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree or higher in a relevant subject
  • 5 -10 years of Embedded C programming
  • Good working knowledge of embedded RTOS
  • Previous experience of low level embedded processor/microcontroller
  • Previous experience and knowledge of secure coding, MISRA

Desirable

  • Experience of design and development of low power systems.
  • Knowledge of smart metering (DLMS, GBCS, ZigBee Smart Energy)
  • Previous experience in agile software development
  • Working experience with wireless technologies (ZigBee, Bluetooth, 3GPP, IoT)

Change and Release Manager

Work Location: Hook, Hampshire, UK

We are looking for an experienced Change and Release Manager to provide a single point of contact between internal departments and external suppliers and to be responsible for coordinating all change and release management functions with EDMI.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and update the Change and Release management plan
  • Work as a subject matter expert for Change and Release management functions
  • Own and govern the Change & Release process by instilling best practice policies and procedures and measuring compliance
  • Proactive anticipation and mitigation of change challenges and risks
  • Coordinate with all necessary internal and external parties to perform Change building, testing and implementation and review to ensure they have met their objectives
  • Publish testing and deployment plans, conduct release plan reviews and participate in release control gates
  • Produce regular and accurate management reports on KPIs and SLAs that could impact the Change and Release management function

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Change and Release management
  • Excellent knowledge of ITIL Framework, and certified to ITIL foundation (V2 or V3) level
  • Previous experience in a direct customer facing role, negotiating timelines, project managing release schedules and enhancing customer experience.
  • Previous experience in process creation

Wireless Firmware Engineer

Work Location: Hook, Hampshire, UK

We are looking for an action oriented Wireless Firmware Engineer to join the EDMI UK Development team in designing and developing the wireless firmware used in EDMI’s Smart Metering Product range. Supporting the Software Director, Development team colleagues and System Test Engineers, you will be given responsibility from day one and start working on live projects to apply your existing knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full life cycle development on the EDMI Smart Metering product range including, but not limited to, design, maintenance, configuration management peer code inspection & task creation and tracking
  • You will hold responsibility for developing and maintaining the wireless technologies used in the EDMI Smart Metering range including stack and application code
  • Participating and leading in interoperability testing and test events
  • To understand secure coding techniques to ensure the product range meets the required industry standards for the relevant certifications and approvals

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree or higher qualification in a relevant subject

Service Delivery Support

Work Location: Newcastle, UK

Are you customer focused and organised? If so, we are looking for a new member to join our Service Delivery Support team. Supporting the Customer Services Manager, you will be the primary contact for day-to-day support with customers across the UK & Europe assisting on issues including orders, deliveries and warranty returns. You will also be working closely with EDMI Europe Sales team and the manufacturing teams in Singapore & Malaysia to monitor any production issues and gather customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, confirm & progress customer purchase orders for goods and/or services
  • Maintain and update the order status report on a daily basis and the tracker report on a weekly basis
  • Liaise with and handle customer queries to provide appropriate additional support and updates on the progress of their orders, shipments and/or warranty returns
  • Enter customer sales orders and raise purchase orders in SAP
  • Liaise with 3PM, 3PL, and inbound & outbound ASN management
  • Monitor production and commercial issues with manufacturing teams and ensure prompt action of all UK and European customer priorities

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple customers, their priorities and the progression of all issues
  • Proven experience of providing excellent customer support
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office programs or similar
  • Ability to think laterally and anticipate problems before they arise to recommend correction actions early
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills towards people across all levels of the business – internal & external customers, suppliers and people at all levels of the business

IoT Graduate

Work Location: Hook, UK

We are looking for an organised and action oriented graduate to join and support the IoT team in delivery new products from conception to delivery. You will be in charge of maintaining the specifications, designing products (where relevant), ensuring deliveries from sub-contractors meet the requirements, testing and ensuring the end product is compliant with EDMI quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Writing product requirement specifications and exporting into the requirement management system
  • Maintaining a requirement traceability matrix via the usual management system
  • Delivery management and reporting including retrieving releases from subcontractors, checking against the requirements and commencing testing
  • Logging bugs in management system and reporting progress of bug fixing on a regular basis
  • Ensuring all requirements are tested and validated
  • Maintaining all technical documents in the dedicated database and supporting the operations team of a complete hand-over to the manufacturing of the product
  • Communication with Purchasing, Operations and sub-contractors in order to provide the correct files for manufacturing.
  • Assist in other areas of Operations as and when may be required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in a technical environment (electrical, telecommunications, computer science, mechanical)
  • Interest in electronics or programming (raspberry Pi for example)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Highly organised with ability to create strong peer relationships

Product Design Engineer Intern

Work Location: Hook, UK

We are looking for a motivated self-starter and is looking to gain Consumer Product (Industrial) design experience in the emerging IoT industry. Working alongside a Product Designer, you will gain experience in all aspects of the design process. Learning on the job and through shadowing, you will primarily be responsible for creating and delivering our Consumer Access Device (CAD) for manufacturing however there is also scope to provide input and original concept designs for new products being introduced.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for producing CAD drawings for manufacturing
  • Developing the mechanical design of products
  • Creating 3D print concepts to aid in the design & development process
  • Aid in CMF selection
  • May also include developing new concepts and introducing new products
  • Assisting in app development

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Study a Design related degree e.g. Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design
  • Fully proficient in Solidworks
  • Have an understanding for designing for manufacture
  • Have an understanding of materials and manufacturing processes such as injection moulding

Desirable

  • Photoshop or Adobe Suite Proficient
  • Previous Experience designing apps
  • UX/UI design
  • Sketching and prototyping
  • Concept development
